Our policy for the adventurous traveller

Travel insurance is available today with our Explorer International Plan for New Zealand residents aged 65 or under. Whether you are planning a worldwide backpacking holiday bungee jumping your way around the world, or are just planning a short trip overseas, this policy is ideal for those of you who want a more comprehensive level of explorer travel cover. The policy is designed for adventurous travellers, Safari and overland travellers, trekkers and other independant travellers.

This great priced travel insurance product is underwritten by Allianz New Zealand Limited (Allianz) and provides peace of mind for the adventurous traveller. This product, like all our travel insurance products, provides automatic free cover for many Explorer holiday sports / activities, such as bungee jumping, scuba diving and white water rafting and lots more.So if you are going on a working holiday, on the Big OE or anyone who wants backpacker insurance at a higher level of cover then our Backpackers policy.

You could explore Worldwide (excluding USA, Hawaii, Canada, South America and Japan) for up to 12 months, with cover for as little as NZ$667.85.

Increased Luggage & Personal Effects cover - Up to an additional $5,000 cover can be purchased for specified items (excluding jewellery) by paying an additional premium - receipts and/or valuations need to be provided. There is a $3,000 item limit for personal computers, video cameras and cameras, $1,000 each item for mobile phones (including PDAs and any items with phone capabilities) and a $750 item limit for all other items up to a total value of $5,000.
Removal of Standard Excess - You can remove the standard $100 Excess on Plans A, C, D, E, F, G, H & I by paying an additional premium.
Rental Vehicle Excess Cover - Cover for reimbursement of the Rental Vehicle insurance Excess or the cost of repairing the vehicle, whichever is the lesser, if a vehicle you have rented from a rental company is involved in an accident while you are driving, or is damaged or stolen while in your custody.
Rental Vehicle Excess Cover is covered as standard under Plans D & E. You can purchase $3,000 Rental Vehicle Excess Cover under Plans A, B, C, F, G, H or I by paying an additional premium.
